Bruins Stay Virtual

Welcome, Bruin Nation to Bruins Stay Virtual, Lake Braddock’s Virtual After-School Program

Welcome and General Information

The Bruins Stay Virtual After-School program is gearing up to be an exciting program for middle schoolers this fall. Lake Braddock and Jamaal Hines, the LBSS After-School Specialist, have been working around the clock to develop a virtual after-school program for students to participate in from a safe social distance.

In Fall 2020, we will be offering a number of virtual recreation activities (fitness, arts/crafts, performing art, cooking, trivia, debate and more) as well as a handful of virtual clubs (FBLA, Digital Art, Hispanic Culture, Science Olympiad, MathCounts, Drama and more).

As we navigate into uncharted waters this Fall, we are continuously developing ways to engage and interact with our Lake Braddock students through virtual programming – not just within academia, but during out-of-school hours as well. Fairfax County Public Schools and other governmental agencies have professionals across the county working together in order to coordinate after-school activities and clubs for our young people. From asynchronous content that students can access and complete on their own time based on personal interests, to live synchronous sessions where students will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with staff and their fellow Bruins online.

Check back often for updates and be sure to visit our Bruins Stay Virtual webpage often.
