Senior Graduation Letter

May 28, 2020

Dear Class of 2020,

We are in the final week of your Senior Year. Wow, what a year this has been. When we started the year in August, we said this would be a year to remember. Never did we imagine that this year would be a “one of a kind” year. We are so proud of the Class of 2020. You have consistently modeled our core values; and this year, you have exhibited an uncanny amount of resilience, perseverance and kindness to each other and to our Bruin community. Congratulations, Class of 2020, you are “One of A Kind.” #BruinsCARE #BruinStrong

As this year comes to an end, we would like to share a few events we have planned to honor and celebrate your achievements. Please review the attached document titled Senior Week of Celebrations to view all the events we have planned for you. This information, with the live links, will be posted in the Senior Class Google site and on the Lake Braddock Secondary School website by the end of the week. In addition, we will be sharing this information with you and your parents during our sub school and parent meetings on Monday.

The majority of the events we have planned for you only require you to click on a link and enjoy; however, a few events require some action on your part. The first is your Senior Drop off and Pick Up Celebration drive through processional, which will begin on Friday, June 5th. The dates have changed since the May 18th Senior Class meeting. To ensure that all seniors receive their cap and gown by our original graduation date, we changed the dates to the following:

Sub School

June 5th

8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Ms. Hampton

June 6th

8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Dr. Cingel

June 8th

8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.**

Mrs. Hoppock

June 9th

8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Ms. McNamara

** Sub School 5 time was extended by an hour to accommodate the number of Seniors assigned to that particular sub school.

June 10th will be a make-up day for students who missed or were unable to come on their assigned day.

Each sub school has been designated a specific day for senior pick-up. Senior pick-up times are further divided by alphabetical order for organizational and efficiency purposes. On our Senior Class Pick-up webpage, you will receive additional information on how the processional will occur, and you will have the ability to click on your sub school to view your pick-up time.

The next event is your Individual Graduate Photo Opportunity on June 15th and 16th. On June 9th, you will receive an email asking you to sign up for a slot for your photo opportunity. Two identical pre-staged photo displays will be set up on the blacktop, and you will be notified which photo display you are assigned. For additional information, please read the attached Individual Graduate Photo Opportunity Letter.

The final event which requires action on your part is the Virtual Graduation Celebration Ceremony. On July 2, 2020, your Virtual Graduation and Celebration Video will be broadcast at 2:00 p.m. To properly prepare for this event, you will be asked to upload several items to the site if you wish to participate. For more information, please read the Virtual Graduation and Celebration letter emailed to you on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Additional information will be sent to your account in the upcoming week informing you of your next steps.

We are excited about our upcoming events, and we look forward to seeing you virtually and in-person during the sub school pick-up dates. The information covered in this letter will be reviewed with you in more detail during the Senior Class meeting on June 1st. You will receive a link from your sub school administrator with the time and link inviting you to the Senior Class meeting.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or your sub school administrator.
