When are activities offered? (NOTICE: club times and dates are still being finalized for the 2023-2024 school year)

Clubs and activities are offered 5 days a week from 2:45 – 4:45 PM. Late buses are available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this year at 4:45 PM. Parent pick-up is required on Fridays as well as after 4:45 PM on late bus days.  Stay tuned for the information of the start date of Late Buses.

How do I sign-up for clubs?

Many clubs do not require student sign-up (just attend on scheduled dates). However, clubs that require sign-up or commitment will distribute a sign-up form at their first meeting. These forms should be completed by parents and students and submitted to the club sponsor on or before the following meeting.

Can I start an After-School Club?

Absolutely! New club ideas are welcomed and encouraged! Students can work with Mr. Hines, the MS After-School Specialist, to begin a club.

How does MS after-school work?

Each day upon the final bell at 2:45 pm, students can report to the cafeteria to sign in for after-school activities. Once signed in, students will receive a hand stamp or wristband. Students can then receive a snack and head off to the location of their respective after-school activity. Activity locations will always be posted at the check-in table in the cafeteria. MS students found in the building or on campus after-school without proper supervision WILL BE subjected to disciplinary actions which may include suspension from attending the Bruins Stay After: MS After-School Program.

How much does it cost to participate in After-School Activities?

After-School activities are funded through a grant from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. The program is free although there may be nominal fees (<$50) associated with certain clubs that compete or have material costs. These fees are associated with less than 10% of the activities we offer.

Do I have to pre-register?
